Apple go Splat
Posted January 23rd, 2008 by sakempNo one should come near me I am so much bad luck at this point. So I went out to lunch today with someone from work. I had brought my laptop to work on my paper that was due tonight. Ok, on the way back in I had to find the only ice spot in the parking lot. I fell and landed on top of my laptop. Not only did I fall once I slipped and again when I tried to stand back up. When I got back inside the office I tried to use it and well it didn’t work. Luckily I have home owners insurance coverage on it. I called the appropriate people and they are taking care of the paper work to get it fixed. I should get a call in the next couple of days about it. Keep you updated.
UPDATE
Its Thursday the 31st of January a little over one week later. So I received the papers work from Motorist Insurance Group. I got the papers last Saturday but I have been feeling ill so I have not got around to filling it out. I filled out the paper work had my mom sign it and am ready to go. There going to give me 1099.99 for the laptop plus 200.00 for the ram I bought. That comes out to 1299.99 minus the 500 deductable. Ok so once I get the check I will update you on what’s next.
UPDATE
It is Saturday the 9th of February it has been over a week since I sent in the paper work to the insurance company and two weeks since I fell and broke my laptop. I hadn’t heard anything from the insurance company so I call them yesterday and talked to the claims adjuster. He told me that my case had been looked at and that I would be receiving a check in the mail for 270 dollars. You might be saying wait I thought you were getting 700 some odd dollars back? Yeah me too, well the people at the insurance company depreciated the amount of the computer. So in order to get the full amount that they owe me I have to buy a new Computer that is equal and send them the receipt and they’ll send me my 500.00 dollars. So what to do? I am going to use my tax refund to buy the new laptop and then send them the check and hope that they give me back my old one. Will keep you posted on what is next.
I will be putting pictures of the laptop up soon.
Tire Meet Curb
Posted January 22nd, 2008 by sakempToday has sucked. I took off work early so that I could write a paper for English due tomorrow. Well that didn’t happen while leaving work I lost control of my car and hit a curb. I hit the driver’s side front wheel and well yeah kind of sucks. I looked at the wheel didn’t look that bad, the hubcap was just beat up. I began to drive to lunch where I was going to meet Robert and Pat and realized that I had messed something up. I called Robert and met him at discount tire. Discount told me that they couldn’t get a wheel till next week so Robert did some calling around and we are waiting for a response. After that we went to lunch and spent the rest of the day running errands, tonight my car is Sitting in front of Roberts house.
UPDATE
So it is Thursday and last night Robert and I took my car to Riche y Goodyear on Roberts Road. I got a call from them today and they said that I did not do any structural damage to the car I, bent the wheel. It is going to cost 240 to get a new steel wheel and an alignment. They told me that the new wheel will be in on Saturday morning. I will keep you updated on what’s going on.
UPDATE
So it is Saturday evening, I got a call from Richey Goodyear, they had gotten the new wheel in. When they took the existing tire off the wheel they realized that the existing tire had a defect. They gave me a call and told me that a new tire would cost me 60 dollars I said fine. 3 hours later they gave me a call to tell me that it was all done. I went and pick up my car and went home.
The missplaced car mirror and a late night
Posted January 18th, 2008 by sakempSo last night was fun Robert and I went out to dinner at noodles & company, at Fifth and Grandview, after I got of work. So on the way back to Roberts’s house, on his street out of nowhere I hit a trashcan with my passenger side mirror. At first I didn't know what had happen just heard a loud cracking noise. Then looked over and the side mirror was turned toward the car, with no mirror piece in it. I stopped the car got out and picked up the piece and continued on. Not knowing how much damage I had done I fretted about it the rest of the night. So I ended spending way to much time with Robert and had to be at work early this morning. So I decided to just go to work early, being it was like 2 am and i had wanted to be at work by 5. On the way to work I stopped by Giant Eagle and picked up a 12 pack of Red Bull and some cashews and made my way to work. When I got to work I tried to look at the damage to the mirror and realized that since my car is “A foreign piece of crap” as some people would say, the two pieces of plastic had just come apart. I was able to just snap them to back together. Now if I would have had a “well made American car" I would have had to spend several hundred dollars and go the repair shop. So after I fixed my car I spent the next 8 hours working. In those 8 hours I downed 10 Red Bulls and half a pound of cashews. After woke I managed to make my way home and slept. I am now writing this blog and am getting ready to go see a movie with Tom Robert and Stephanie.
Light Snow
Posted January 15th, 2008 by sakempSo we got snow last night, and you would have thought that we got a foot of snow not the less than half an inch. People drive as if they have never driven in snow before. Come-on we live in the Midwest snow is bound to fall from the sky. My travel into work today which on the average day takes 15 minuets took half and hour. I didn't even hit speed in excess of 35 mph. Why are people driving 30 in a 50 when the roads are dry? Then you also have these people who are impatient and drive excessively too fast driving on the edge of the road to get around people. It seems like when you get any kind of weather change in Columbus the community freezes and doesn't know how to drive.

The Man
Posted January 12th, 2008 by sakempWhy do the corporations feel like they can treat the little guy like he does not exist? They treat us like crap, stepping on us like we are ants in the wrong place at the wrong time. As "ants" we get the raw end of every deal, we have no opinion in what happens in the corporation, in which we pour about 25% of our lives every year. The only thing these corporations want is money. They want you to work harder, faster, and longer so they make more money, but do we see that money no because they want it all for themselves. Do they think that we don't realize that we know they have screwed us over? Do they realize that if they didn't have us that they wouldn't make the same amount of money? They should compensate their employees for the work they do instead of paying them as little as possible. These corporations should make their employees happy, since it has been proven that a happier work environment makes more productive employees. In my opinion, if employers compensated their employees for the amount of work that they produce instead of whatever they think they can away with. Their employees would be willing to produce more.
