Facebook

So i have stepping into the world of website development. This summer robert talked about needing someone to write modules for drupal and i at the time i was up helping my mom in ohio so i decided that i would take a look at it and see how hard it would be to learn Drupal and PHP. Both came easy to me so i decided to on my own to try and get some stuff done with facebook so far i have been able to link a website with facebook (using another module drupal for facebook) and then from that able to read and update the users status. in the end it believe the final project will allow a user to have all of the same features that the do now on Facebook, ie. able to upload pictures, see what their friends are saying, add friends that are on the site but not friends with them on Facebook.

The Finale Destination

So i have made it to the now "world". I made it here Monday night after a 7 hour drive. it ussually takes about 6 hours but it is kinda hard to make time when your following two semi's on dark windy roads. When i made it to my dads new house i ate dinner and went to bed. Tuesday got up around noon and ate lunch and worked on "studying" for the ACT which seemed easy enough. We went to Walmart to get what i need some new shirts and some containers for my room. We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and then went to k mart to get some more stuff for me. I got some new sheets and some other stuff. Then we went home.

Wednesday I got up and went to apsu and went on a "find the room hunt" they had you start in one building get a piece of paper then you had to find the next building to pay for the test then you had to go to a third to take your test. I took the ACT which at the time i thought i was going to pretty bad on since i didn't finish all the sections and had to guess on some of the answers. When i got done with the test i went and got lunch then went home. After a while i got started on unpacking my stuff and then had dinner and continued unpacking.

Thursday i did nothing and then Friday i went and pick up my ACT scores and check to see if i would be accepted with the scores that i had gotten. From what they told me i did good on every part except the English. I have been accepted unconditionally which means that i am under no probations. Next Wednesday I have to go to a summer welcome and sign up for classes.

Will Keep you all updated.

New World New Place New Adventure

So as many of you know i have quit my job and am moving to Tennessee to go to school. It has been a long kinda scary process, at least for me. i have lived in the same house for most of my life, and now have packed up mostly everything and moved it to the new place in Clarksville, Tn. I will be living with my dad so it not like i will be alone with anyone that i do not know.

I move most of my stuff about two weeks ago with my good friend Robert. We moved all of my stuff into the house and then helped my dad move his stuff. Then we drove back to Columbus for two weeks.

I will be going to Austin Peay State University. There i will be Majoring in Computer Science. While at school i am going to try and get a job to make the payment on my car and for my car insurance.

Though i might be a little nervous about this whole thing i know that in the long run this is the best thing for me.

The weekend i will be putting everything else into my tiny car and Monday will be driving to my new home.

Well this is where i am going to write down the thoughts going through my head.

YouBug.Us

So it has taken me way to long but i have gotten youbug dot us up. It might be up but I still have a long way to go before i am finished. At the moment it is just a shell of nothing but hopefully some day i will be able to make it better.

March 29, 2008

March is almost to a close and so everything is starting to warm up outside, but not fast enough for me. It has been some time since my last post, well let me bring you up to date. March 9th it was done snowing but we were left with about 20 inches on the ground. That day Robert, Tom and I delivered about 600 papers. We pick up some extra route for some extra money. At this point i can't remember what i did between then and that Wednesday when i started my final in English. Friday the 14th started my "spring break" i still had to finish my final for class but i wanted a week off work to myself. So Friday evening Robert, Kaela and I help the HEA with a food drive. And went out that night for Kaela's "birthday" at Bucca.

The wrath of the snow

Today would be Saturday the day it snowed all day. So this morning Robert and i did the paper. It sucked, the snow was so high it was above the floor board in my car. I only got stuck once and was able to get my way out. The worst part of this morning was the 7 hours it took us to deliver the papers. It usually takes us 3 to 5 on a normal day. So once we gave up the idea of trying to drive two separate cars, and Kaela had joined us we finished the route. The worst part wasn't the snow falling it was the knee high snow drifts. Plus once we hit a level two the dispatch said we still needed to deliver the paper until we hit a level three. The people that were out thanked us and said they were amazed that we were even delivering the paper. Some places we drove through the snow was up to the bottom of Roberts truck. Well we will see what is in store for us tomorrow.

The Life I Know

The following piece was written by me years ago so some might have seen this before.

"Life is like a dream. You never know how it's going to end up. Sometimes you take a path to left when you want to take one to the right. You want to go slower when you are going to fast. But when your life is going to slow you want to speed up. There is never a perfect path to take even though people tell you that there is. You go down one path but go too far and can't get back, or you come to a split in the path and you don't know which one to take. So you take the wrong one and your life goes down the hole. But if you took the right one you succeed and would be in a better place. Think of this if you were dreaming you would just wake up. But if your were not, then well what are you going to do? Are you going live the rest of your life in shame, or are you going to take the truth and become a better person over time?"~skemp
